NRL fines Fifita over pre-season incident

The Queensland representative has been fined $20,000 with $10,000 (US$7,615) suspended for 12 months.

Fifita must also complete, to the NRL’s satisfaction, counselling, education and training, in consultation with the Titans.

The NRL announced on Wednesday the breach notice, which states "he breached the NRL Rules when he entered the premises of a home, which he did not reside in, on 27 December, 2020".

Titans brace for Fifita fire and target historic win over Broncos

No Gold Coast side has ever beaten the Broncos twice in a season, dating back to 1988, and after winning the round seven clash 30-12 at Suncorp Stadium the Titans have the chance to secure an historic double at Cbus Super Stadium.

Broncos coach Peter Gentle said last week he hoped Titans-bound Fifita would "show them what they are getting" in the clash. After two wins on the trot Gold Coast captain Jamal Fogarty said he was wary of Fifita but determined to send him home a loser.

Fifita back in Brisbane after Bali jail drama

The 19-year-old will now provide the NRL integrity Unit with his version of what occurred in the early hours of Saturday morning outside a Bali nightclub which led to security guard Dani Irawan alleging to police that he was struck by Fifita, only to later withdraw the complaint and sign a "peace deal" with Fifita which led to his release.

Fifita was met by his mother Gwen and Broncos CEO Paul White when he landed in Brisbane on Tuesday morning where he thanked all those involved in securing his release.
