Digicel partners with Talitha Project to stop cyber bullying

There are consultations at all levels amongst Government and stakeholders to ensure everyone plays their part for a safer and more secure online experience for all. 

With that in mind, Digicel Tonga Ltd in partnership with Talitha Project is inviting all schools in Tongatapu to participate in an awareness competition this month. 

The main objective is to ‘stop cyber bullying’ and create an awareness amongst the community with the focus to educate children about a safer online experience. 

Digicel Super MUM SMS Game winners

The second prize of $800TOP went to Makeleta Finau of Ha’apai.

The two winners were announced Friday.

Customers were required to text the word MUM to 1644 for 0.39cent to compete.

They were also instant winners taking away $100TOP every week.

Digicel is now forming up the next SMS game for the month of June with more cash prizes to be won.

 

Digicel Tonga treats loyal customers

This is one of Digicel’s final initiatives to commemorate its 10th anniversary in Tonga.

Seventy-five lucky walk-in customers received free Digicel Coffee mugs and free coffee as well as additional free Unlimited Data for 2 Hours.

The event marked the end of the anniversary that falls in the month of May.

Digicel invests $150k into Ha’apai

The new store also mark’s the significant milestone for Digicel’s 10th Year Anniversary and shows Digicel’s commitment to the welfare of its staff and customers in the outer island of Ha’apai. 

With the Top$150,000 (US$65,000) investment it further enhances Digicel’s brand presence in Ha’apai with its new centrally located store which is now more convenient and accessible for customers.   

Digicel supports Tonga rugby league team for Polynesia Cup

Tonga rugby league team will meet Samoa in Apia on Saturday, 2 June for the Polynesian Cup.

The Polynesian Cup is part of events to celebrate the Samoa Independence Day on Saturday.

Its core objective of the tournament is to develop and control the game of rugby league through the development of local players so that they are given the exposure and recognition internationally.

A travelling squad made up of 20-men will be representing Tonga at this weekend’s tournament

The team will to travel to Samoa on Thursday. 

 

 

Digicel Tonga draws winners names for Mother’s and Father’s Day promotion

The prize for mothers was a voucher worth of $100 from Island Glow while there was a $100 shopping voucher at Pacific Timber Hardware.

Customers were encouraged to purchase any Unlimited Data plans from *123# short code or through the My Digicel App to be eligible for the draw.

The promotion ran from the 23rd April to the 20th May.

Digicel Tonga supports Tonga National Touch Rugby Association

Digicel provided the referees with branded t-shirts and with top up vouchers in addition its support.

The tournament was held at the Apifo'ou College rugby field with teams from the Bank South Pacific, Ports Authority, Tanoa International Dateline Hotel, Digicel & PMS.

There is no registration fee and the tournament is open to any organisation interested in participating.

The second tournament will be on the 30 May 2018 from 5pm-7pm.

Digicel Tonga treats dads to Father’s Day breakfast

The breakfast was also in honour of staff who have worked with Digicel for the last decade.

Digicel Tonga is celebrating its tenth anniversary this month.

CEO Ben Kealy acknowledged the men’s contribution saying they have worked around the clock to accomplish many of the company’s objectives.

One of the longest serving staff, Sisi Lopeti, expressed the gratitude of the fathers and thanked Kealy for hosting them to breakfast.

Digicel Tonga staff participate in Amazing Race team building exercise

There were 4 teams; Team Tongatapu, Team Vava'u, Team Ha'apai & Team 'Eua who set off with their clues for Pit Stops where a question and challenge awaited them before they got their next one.

The winning team - Team Vava'u won the AMAZING RACE and huge congratulations to Jennifer Penisoni, Tevita Sifa and Siutaula Fuko who demonstrated great leadership, collaboration and team work in finishing the race in 20 minutes. 

Digicel Tonga treats mums to Mother's Day breakfast

All the mothers were excited to be part of the breakfast session with the CEO, Ben Kealy.

‘Asiate Vaka said she is very happy to be part of the Digicel family and wished all the mothers a Happy Mother’s Day.

‘We may take a step back to thank these hardworking and dedicated women for all the commitment they have brought into this organisation,’ Mr Kealy said.

He also wished mothers a Happy Mother’s Day.
