Aaron Carter accidentally drowned after taking drugs

Carter, 34, the younger brother of the Backstreet Boys' Nick Carter, was found dead at his home in Lancaster, California, on 5 November.

The autopsy has now revealed that his death was caused by drowning due to the effects of sedatives he had taken and gas he had inhaled.

Alprazolam, often sold under the brand name Xanax, was found in his system.

The compressed gas difluoroethane was also detected. The report describes it as a "gas commonly used as a propellant in air spray cleaners" which "can induce feelings of euphoria when inhaled".

Fiji police recover bodies from a river

Fiji Village reports that police had earlier said the body of another child, aged 7, was recovered and the body of the 59-year-old woman that accompanied the two children were recovered on Saturday night.

Police have acknowledged the support of members of the community who came forward to assist with search efforts.

     

Body found on a beach identified as Auckland-based Tongan man Micheal Finekifolau

He was Auckland-based Tongan, Michael Joseph Finekifolau, aged 22.       

Western Bay of Plenty Area Response Manager Senior Sergeant Shannon Clifford said Finekifolau had not returned from a swim at Mt Maunganui on Saturday 7 November.

“Our thoughts are with his whanau at this time and Police continue to provide them with support.”

Tongan child drowns in hotel swimming pool in Utah

Good4Utah reports Saturday night, Jordan Kalapa drowned at a swimming pool inside a West Valley hotel.

Kalapa's mother said her son was attending a birthday party and she wasn't there.  Sunday evening, his mother reminisced about her six-year old.

"He was the type of person that would go look for you and love you and hug you and give you that big smile with that big hair," said Falena Kalapa. "We call it the Bob Marley look.

She said Jordan was the life of a party and would do anything for anyone seeking help.
