Mixed reactions to pop star Dinah Jane singing Tongan national anthem at RLWC semi-final

Jane, 20, is of Tongan, Samoan, Fijian and Danish descent and is a member of the famous X-Factor girl group Fifth Harmony,

TVNZ reports the singing star made the announcement yesterday through her Twitter and Instagram.

"I'm so excited to announce that I'll be in attendance at the Rugby Semi-Finals in New Zealand this weekend. I'm deeply honoured that I️ was asked to sing the Tongan National Anthem for this historic event," Jane posted on social media.

Jane has copped some negative criticism online from fans, saying she is taking the limelight away from the game.

In a statement the remaining four members - Ally Brooke, Normani Kordei, Dinah Jane and Lauren Jauregui - claimed they "made every effort" to "discuss the future of Fifth Harmony and Camila".

However, they went on to suggest that she had "refused" to meet up with them.

"We know you were hurt confused, we are too. We know you want answers."

Their post was in response to Camila claiming she didn't know the group was going to release a statement about her quitting.

According to US entertainment website TMZ, the 20-year-old was stopped at Dulles International Airport in Washington DC on Tuesday night.

After going through a checkpoint, she was forced by officials to submit to a secondary search.

That's apparently when a small amount of "what appeared to be marijuana" was found in her hand luggage.

But the 25-year-old starlet did get to be an honorary fifth member of the pop group when she invited Dinah Jane Hansen, 18, Camila Cabello, 18, Ally Brooke Hernandez, 22, Lauren Jauregui, 19, and Normani Kordei, 19, to perform with her onstage as her surprise guests at her concert on Friday in Santa Clara, California.

"I want to be in Fifth Harmony," Swift tweeted, alongside pics of herself with the group.
