Ambassador of the Kingdom of Tonga presented credentials in the Netherlands

The ceremony was carried out in a group of ambassadors from the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal and the Republic of Namibia, who had an audience with the king.

Tonga's High Commission in London said that the discussions concerned water management, climate change and renewable and sustainable energy.

Ambassador Fanetupouvava’u, accompanied by Major Sioasi Kiu Kaho, met the other ambassadors, dignitaries and ranking officials of the Dutch government.

EU Ambassador to the Kingdom of Tonga presents his credentials

During the credential ceremony, Ambassador Seam stressed the long-standing relation and friendship between the European Union and the Kingdom of Tonga, based on a legacy of shared values, common priorities and successful development cooperation.

Fonua-Helu is Tonga’s new Honorary Consul of the Republic of Finland

Prime Minister Pohiva Tu’i’onetoa presented the Honorary Consul with the Letter of Exequatur on behalf of the Government of the Kingdom of Tonga.

The letter now grants Fonua-Helu the authorisation to exercise honorary functions, conduct official duties and to access provisional benefits stipulated in the 1963 Vienna Conventions on Consular Relations.

She was a former Senior Officer at the Tonga Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including an overseas posting as a Diplomat of the Kingdom of Tonga to the People’s Republic of China, Beijing.

Tonga opens its first embassy in Abu Dhabi

The new headquarters is located in Etihad Towers.

Emirates News Agency reports Nusseibeh congratulated King Tupou VI on the opening of the mission.

For his part, Akauola praised the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for its efforts in facilitating the embassy’s opening, affirming the importance of this step in further developing relations between the two countries.
