Tongan woman co-accused in importing 501kg of meth in NZ, Crown alleges

Stevie Norua Cullen, 36, a managing director from central Auckland, and Selaima Fakaosilea, 30, from Auckland’s Beach Haven, are accused of importing methamphetamine into Northland in June 2016 and participating in an organised criminal group.

The trial got underway proper on Thursday, after several delays due to jurors being excused due to personal issues and sickness. Two more jurors were selected, bringing the jury to eight women and four men.

The Police Drugs Enforcement Taskforce executed a search warrant at the 41-year-old suspect’s residence in Kanokupolu early Wednesday morning yesterday.

Police officers seized 464 grams of methamphetamine.

Police Dogs were also deployed during the search.

 “As demonstrated by this arrest, we continue to focus on capturing and prosecuting those responsible for the supply of these destructive drugs that cause harm to our youths, families and our community,” said the Commander of the Central Police Station A/CSP Tevita Vailea.
