Digicel working round the clock to establish international communication with Tonga

Our domestic network in Tongatapu is active and we are working to restore international connectivity. Digicel’s engineers and the technical team are working on the issues and hope to have them resolved in the shortest time possible.

Digicel Tonga restores network in affected areas

This was following the devastation of severe Tropical Cyclone Harold on Thursday, 9th April. 

The team will also be visiting ‘Eua early next week to ensure network experience is stable. 

Since communications is of the utmost importance with families and loved ones, Digicel ensures connectivity across the Kingdom and abroad during what are challenging times for everyone. 

The team at Digicel are working tirelessly to enable customers to stay connected during this long Easter weekend.

Currently there is full connectivity in Vava’u and Ha’apai and work to restore all services in Tongatapu is ongoing at pace.

Manchester police hunt 'network' behind bomber

Salman Abedi, a Manchester-born 22-year-old, blew himself up outside the stadium at the end of an Ariana Grande concert held there on Monday, local time.

As well as the 22 people killed, more than 120 were injured.

Five people have been arrested in the UK since Monday night, including Abedi's older brother, Ismael, who was detained in Chorlton, south Manchester, on Tuesday.
