Ali Cupper pitches Tonga partnership

Tongan community leaders, the Sunraysia Mallee Ethnic Communities Council and former mayor Peter Byrne have reignited debate about a link with the Tongan capital.

A report prepared in 2013 found Mildura could offer support to Tonga in health, education and law enforcement through a sister city relationship according to a report in Sunraysia Daily.

Cr Cupper said the information should be presented to councillors at a forum.

Mildura is a city with a population of about 31,000 people and it is located in Victoria, Australia.

Met Media Training lauded by PMC

Speaking at the Third Pacific Meteorological press panel at the conclusion of day three, Fa'anunu said that the coverage of this year's meet by media has been excellent.

“This coverage of this meeting may be three times better than the last PMC, and you're getting stories from every single met-service, which I think is great as we have a range of expertise here,” he said.

Fa'anunu said that readers are getting a broad range of issues covered this year and realise what met-services are doing to address issues.
