‘Early detection saves lives’, Pinktober launched in Tonga

The launch was graced by the patron of Tonga Breast Cancer Society, Her Royal Highness Princess Pilolevu.

Guests also heard from Monica Tu’ipulotu about her experiences as a survivor of breast cancer.   

In support of Pinktober, Digicel launched on 1 October, its nation-wide special offer of Huawei Y3 phone for $149 pa’anga with free sim and 1GB data valid for five days.

$1 from every handset sold will be donated to Tonga Breast Cancer Society.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month Underway in Tonga

Tonga Breast Cancer Society launched the breast cancer awareness month this week with a morning tea and was graced with the presence of Her Royal Highness Princess Pilolevu Tuita, Patron of the Breast Cancer Society.

Speaking at the program the Director of Health – Dr. Siale ‘Akauola said, cancer is the second cause of death in Tonga.

He praised the awesome efforts the society has carried out to assist the victims of breast cancer.

Tonga goes pink for awareness

The Just Play Programme teamed up with the Tonga Football Association to deliver a day of fun and education for 101 local schoolgirls last week.  

The festival was attended by 101 girls from local schools.

The festival was organised in support of breast cancer awareness, and was open to girls aged 10-13 from four local schools.

Parents of the children and teachers from the schools were also invited to take part.
