New podcast investigates exploitation of Pacific Nations in rugby

A new podcast aims to get to the bottom of what is holding Nations like Fiji, Tonga and Samoa back from their immense potential.

The six-part series comes from Radio New Zealand and is hosted by comedian James Nokise and former professional rugby player and journalist John Daniell. One of the six episodes will be hosted by sports journalist Talei Anderson and focus purely on the women’s game in the Pacific.

Barack Obama and Bruce Springsteen to host Spotify series

The first two episodes of Renegades: Born in the USA, a conversation recorded in Springsteen's guitar-filled home studio in New Jersey, were made available on Monday (local time).

Spotify has moved aggressively in podcasts over the past three years, and made other programming announcements Monday.

The audio streaming service has already worked with Barack and Michelle Obama's Higher Ground production company, and the former first lady's podcast is the service's most popular original.

Harry and Meghan say 'love wins' in first podcast from Spotify deal

Singer Sir Elton John, presenter James Corden, author Matt Haig, tennis player Naomi Osaka and others feature on the first episode of Archewell Audio.

It is the first fruit of Prince Harry and Meghan's podcast deal with Spotify.

"No matter what life throws at you guys, trust us when we say, love wins," Meghan tells listeners.

The couple do not directly discuss their personal experiences of 2020, which started with them announcing they would step back as "senior" royals, before moving to the US.
