Toutai Kefu to coach Tongan invitational side in charity match against Reds

Tonga coach Kefu is himself recovering, after a terrifying home invasion last August resulted in the former Wallabies great in hospital and his wife, son and daughter all injured.

But he'll be back with the clipboard in hand for a 40-minute curtain-raiser to the Reds' Super Rugby Pacific home opener on February 19 at Lang Park.

James Horwill, Scott Higginbotham and David Croft will lace up the boots for the Vintage Reds, while George Smith, Wendell Sailor and Lote Tuqiri will feature for the Tongan side.

Reds bolster coaching, front row

The pair have proven to be a dynamic duo in the last two years, steering Queensland's U20s to consecutive undefeated, title winning seasons before taking the reins at Queensland Country and working wonders there.

Thorn has regularly credited Carozza as an integral part of his rise to the head coaching ranks and the Reds announced Thorn's right hand man as one of two assistant coaches in their squad drop on Wednesday.

The former New Zealand schoolboy rugby star and and young prop is one of four young players picked by the Wallabies as development players for the tour.

Tupou who's is now 20 and playing for the Queensland Reds is still a year off completing his three year residency requirement under World Rugby rules, to be eligible to play for Australia.

Amy Chu has told how she fought to protect her baby when a man allegedly tried to steal her car while the child was inside.

The Brisbane mother has been left traumatised by the incident.

“I could not give up, my baby is there, he might drive my car away. I have to fight for my baby,” she said.
