No arrests yet in the 2020 murder of Tongan woman in the US

Salt Lake Investigators discovered 42-year-old Kaufusi had been shot on August 2020.

Police have treated the suspicious death as a homicide.

Kaufusi’s body was discovered by a jogger about a half mile east of Saltair near an I-80 frontage road. She had been deceased “at least several days,” reports said.

Her family has raised concerns about the case.

“Nothing,” Makalita Ofa, her aunt, said. “Nothing at all”, reported KSL.com.

Tongan suspect arrested for murder in Salt Lake City Ballpark neighborhood

49-year-old Luis Melendez was found dead near a bicycle in the area of Harrison Ave. and Main Street two weeks ago.

2KUTV reports the suspect is 24-year-old Siosiua Tonga Ositamani, according to a jail affidavit filed on Tuesday.

An anonymous tip led investigators to Ositamani, after which they compared photos of him to video from local businesses.

Tu‘akalau loses battle against COVID-19 in Salt Lake City

Tu’akalau’s wife Lotomo’ua has confirmed his death to Kaniva News.

It was Father’s Day in the US yesterday and Lotomo’ua took to Facebook to share what she did saying it was what Lelea would normally do and that is to put a bunch of flowers on his father’s grave.

Lotomo’ua said she took flowers and placed them for Tu’akalau while he was in hospital.

“This father’s day is different,” she wrote.

“Lelea Ki Vailahi we miss you so much today.”

“We love you so much keep fighting.”

3 Tongans indicted in major meth distribution ring targeting Salt Lake County

The three accused are Siosifina Ositamani, 41, of Salt Lake City, Makasini Lomu, 50, of West Valley City and Timote Fangupo, 36, of West Jordan.

Tongan pregnant mum killed in car crash, her baby delivered by emergency C-Section

The Tongan mother has been identified as 30-year-old Kaipā ʻOfa KiʻUiha Sateki Kinikini, also known as ʻOfa Kinikini, a Salt Lake City resident.

Her baby was delivered and is in extremely critical condition, said Salt Lake City Police Department spokesman Det.

Salt Lake City Police shoot Tongan man

The victim is Palm Samiuel Lautaimi also known as Palema.

His family have confirmed he was shot by police on Sunday, Fox13 Now News reported.

“Those two Salt Lake City police officers are on standard paid administrative leave”, the news said.
