Australia fly-half Bernard Foley stays with Wallabies

Foley, 29, recommitted to RA despite offers from overseas, with next year's World Cup a target.

The playmaker said he wanted Australia to contend in Japan in 2019 after being part of the Wallabies' losing team in the 2015 final.

"I'm really happy to re-sign and now focus on pushing ahead to focus on what's a really big season next year," Foley said.

"The World Cup is obviously a major carrot and I've got a lot of belief in this group that if we continue to work hard and focus on improving every day, then we can push deep into the competition.

Wallabies hopeful Kerevi, Kuridrani can join Spring Tour

Neither Kerevi or Kuridrani will line up for their NRC sides this weekend, which leaves them next-to-no chance to travel to Japan to face the All Blacks.

But it's understood Kerevi, in particular, remains a chance to link up with the Wallabies in Wales a week later.

The star Reds centre, who has had a four-month layoff due to surgery on a ruptured biceps suffered in June, said last week he is hopeful of making a return for Brisbane City if they qualify to play finals football in the NRC.

The Queensland side face a must-win clash with Canberra Vikings on Sunday.

Wallabies stage record comeback

The Wallabies scored five tries after the break in Salta to clinch a win that had appeared very unlikely at half-time, completing the biggest comeback in Rugby Championship history.

With the win, Australia avoided finishing bottom of the table and back-to-back losses to the Pumas for the first time in history.

Dane Haylett-Petty scored twice and Bernard Foley booted 15 points for the Wallabies, who kept the pressure from further increasing on under-fire coach Michael Cheika.

Kerevi reveals sledge which triggered Tui melee

Kerevi was in the crowd watching the angry fan hurl abuse and was part of the group of people who pulled his Reds teammate and the man apart.

The injured Wallabies star took to Instagram on Sunday to share his side of the story.

"Lukhan came in to help out because that guy was swearing around his family," Kerevi wrote.

"That altercation only happened because the drunk fan told Lukhan to 'play with some heart'.

"The fact that he was even on the field speaks volumes.

"So for everyone throwing chat at my boy... Shut your mouth!

Tui distraught after fan scuffle

Cheika claimed the incident was sparked by Tui's sister being pushed by the supporter near the tunnel at Cbus Super Stadium on the Gold Coast, immediately following Australia's shock 23-19 loss to Argentina on Saturday night.

It capped off an already emotional week for Tui's family - his stepfather died suddenly on Wednesday, and the Wallabies were wearing black armbands in his honour.

The Samoan rugby player was still able to take his place in the starting team and played the full 80 minutes at blindside flanker.

Argentina shock Australia

The Wallabies had won 15 of the past 16 matches between the two teams, including the last six, and had not been beaten by the Pumas on home soil since 1983.

But, on a day that had already seen South Africa shock New Zealand in Wellington, a second upset came to pass as head coach Mario Ledesma – a former member of Michael Cheika's Australia backroom team – masterminded a famous victory.

Israel Folau out of Springboks test with ankle injury

Folau injured his ankle against the All Blacks in Sydney and missed the Wallabies' Auckland test last week, but was on track to return to the side in Brisbane.

However, he pulled up sore on Saturday morning and withdrew from the team, with Dane Haylett-Petty moving to fullback, Jack Maddocks coming onto the wing and Tom Banks making his way into the squad.

Folau back from injury for Wallabies

Injury concerns Israel Folau and Taniela Tupou are racing the clock to make a comeback after being included in a 31-strong Wallabies squad for The Rugby Championship

Folau is considered a "50-50" chance of playing the Springboks in Brisbane on Saturday night after only running for the first time on Friday since injuring his ankle against the All Blacks in Sydney two weeks ago.

The clash against the Pumas will be played on the Gold Coast on September 15.

Barrett torments Wallabies

Barrett was instrumental when the All Blacks ran riot in the second half to beat the Wallabies in Sydney last weekend and the two-time World Rugby Player of the Year made history with another masterclass in Auckland on Saturday.

The outstanding fly-half claimed a first-half double and another two tries after the break, also scoring 10 points from the tee to finish with a tally of 30 as Australia were blown away.

Nick Farr-Jones questions Wallabies conditioning ahead of second Bledisloe Cup test

Farr-Jones, who played 63 matches for the Wallabies from 1984 to 1993, was a part of the last Wallabies side to win against the All Blacks at Eden Park.

Ahead of Saturday's second Bledisloe Cup test at the Auckland venue, the 56-year-old told Radio Sport's D'Arcy Waldegrave the way the Australians played in the second half of last weekend's 38-13 All Blacks win in Sydney was a real concern.
