The eight members of Special Olympics Team Tonga was hosted by Digicel to a dinner before they flew out of the country to participate in the Special Olympics World Summer Games in Abu Dhabi.

The four athletes are Ane Tuiketei of Houma, Manatu Paletu’a of Fatai, Siaosi Palanite and Paula Tupou of Te’ekiu.
The other four members are officials.
The Special Olympics Tonga Team will be participating in shot-put, sprinter and walking.
The team flew out of Tonga on Wednesday, 6 March.
The Special Olympics World Summer Games will be held from 14 March to 21 March 2019.
Over 7000 participants from 170 countries are attending the Games.
