Growing concerns at the state of Tonga's roads

The Tonga Government has made major promises to fix the country's roads but progress is very slow.

Last year it announced it would commit 300 million pa'anga, or $US128 million, over four years, to rebuild the road network.

RNZ Pacific correspondent Kalafi Moala says little has happened.

He said that in the wake of recent cyclones, the state of the roads is worse than ever.
