The Tongan youth and women groups of Neiafu have shifted their focus on to protecting their marine life.
The groups met with the members of the Marine Protected Area team to discuss the area plans of the island.
The project has been targeted to involve them since they are involved in a lot of activities that include use of the marine resources.
Consultation meetings have been ongoing in Vava'u this week.
The Italian Government through the Tonga’s Department of Environment under the Ministry of MEIDECC funds MPA.
The team comprises members from Nuku'alofa, MEIDECC Vava'u and Vepa Vava'u.
