Suspect arrested in death of Tongan man

Police have arrested a 28-year-old man as part of a homicide investigation into the death of Auckland man Sosiua Helotu Ula.

Stuff.co reports Police executed a search warrant in south Auckland on Wednesday morning and the man arrested for drug offences allegedly connected to the incident.

The man is the third person to face charges in relation to the circumstances surrounding Ula's death, Detective Senior Sergeant Christiaan Barnard of Kapiti-Mana police said.

He will appear at Manukau District Court later on Wednesday charged with possession of methamphetamine for supply and conspiracy to supply methamphetamine.

Ula, 19, was found with critical injuries after falling from a vehicle on Warspite Ave, Porirua on 7 October.

He was taken to Wellington Hospital but died on October 9.

Kapiti-Mana police continue to investigate the homicide.
