Tonga Customs CEO resigns to contest general election

The Chief Executive Officer of Tonga Ministry of Customs and Revenue, Kulu ‘Anisi Bloomfield has resigned to contest the general election in November.

Bloomfield will contest the parliamentary seat for Vava’u 15 constituency.

He told Kaniva News he has something significant for his constituency as well as the nation.

Bloomfield said it was not an easy decision but one he had to take.

He has indicated that he will publicly release his contributions including policies he created while at the ministry.

He said it’s important for the people to know.

Bloomfield, who is from Neiafu, was the Head of the Oceania Customs Organisation based in Suva, Fiji.
