China and Tonga have signed a Letter of Exchange to facilitate China’s assistance towards implementing Tonga High School Sports Complex for the 2019 Pacific Games.

The document was signed by China’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Tonga, Excellency Huang Huaguang, and the Minister of Finance and National Planning of Tonga, Aisake Eke.

The main construction for the project includes an indoor gymnasium, an outdoor rugby field, four outdoor netball fields, two outdoor swimming pools, a lawn bowling field and ancillary facilities within the scope of the project.

A government statement said the construction of the facilities will start soon.

During the past years, China has been providing assistance to Tonga which has greatly promoted the economic and social development of Tonga.

The assistance in supporting the construction of the sports facilities will not only support Tonga in hosting of 2019 Pacific Games, but also bring convenience to the local people in their physical activities.
