Fiji police investigation

Fiji investigation underway into South Korean church group

Shin Ok-joo was detained at Seoul Airport last week, and has been charged with slavery and foreign exchange violations.

Up to 400 Korean followers are reported to have worked in Fiji, but South Korean authorities say their passports were confiscated and they're not being allowed to leave.

The church has extensive business interests in Fiji, including agriculture and retail, and it has been backed by several government ministers.
