Usain Bolt rejects Central Coast Mariners contract, quits A-League trial

The Olympic sprinting great has been unable to strike a deal with the Mariners after being on trial with the football for the past two months.

The deal largely hinged on the club finding a commercial partner to boost his salary. It was understood he was seeking a contract worth $3 million and had only been offered something in the vicinity of $150,000.

Central Coast Mariners owner, Mike Charlesworth, confirmed the eight-time Olympic gold medallist would not be continuing his trial.
