A 48-year-old man from Kolonga, who allegedly had the illicit drug, methamphetamines, on him will appear in the Magistrates Court in Nuku’alofa on Monday.
The suspect was arrested a week ago.
Police said the suspect went to fill-up his car at a petrol station in the Central Business District.
The accused did not have any cash to pay for the petrol so the workers reported the matter to police.
Police officers reached the service station, searched his car and found 2 small packets allegedly containing methamphetamine.
He was arrested and he has been charged with possession of illicit drug.
The continuing Police investigation is expected to confirm the amount of methamphetamine seized.
