Digicel Tonga has announced sponsorship of Miss Galaxy Pageant 2019 as the organisers celebrate the 26th anniversary of the pageant.
The theme for the event this year is "Fragrances of different Communities".
The pageant has created a lot of excitement with the Miss Galaxy week kicking off with the Ari’I Oe Hau mixed netball tournament.
There will also be ongoing tests for HIV AIDS as well as two judging events on 17 and 18 July at the Queen Salote Memorial Hall.
The Miss Galaxy Pageant is one of the most popular events of the social calendar in Tonga.
A former president for the Tonga Leiti Association, Joleen Mataele received the donation from Digicel Regional Head of Human Resources, Sailasa Vueti.
Mataele extended the association’s gratitude to Digicel management and staff for their continuous support of the Miss Galaxy Pageant.
Mataele said the event creates a platform for the LGBT community to showcase their talents and it is also an opportunity to raise awareness about diseases like HIV AIDS.
