Gang member gets jail for murdering south Auckland dad

Villiami Taani shot Abraham Tu'uheava and his wife Yolanda in an 'execution-style killing' on Greenwood Road in Māngere last May.

Mr Tu'uheava, a patched Nomads member, died on the rural stretch but his wife survived, despite being shot twice in the head.

In the High Court at Auckland this morning, Taani was jailed for life, with a minimum non-parole period of 17-and-a-half years.

His cousins Fisilau Tapaevalu and Mesui Tufui were found guilty of murder and attempted murder after a four-week trial last month.

They will be sentenced next Friday.
