Chiefs prop rushed into All Blacks

Starting loosehead Moody will have his thumb in a cast for six weeks after suffering a fracture during Saturday's 40-12 win over Australia in Auckland to secure the Bledisloe Cup.

With fringe contender Jeff Toomaga-Allen also injured, the uncapped Ta'avao is promoted ahead of next week's Test against Argentina in Nelson.

The 28-year-old made 22 appearances for the Waratahs across 2016 and 2017 before his form this year with the Chiefs caught the eye of New Zealand coach Steve Hansen.

New Zealand PM dismisses idea of govt money for All Blacks

All Blacks coach Steve Hansen and New Zealand Rugby boss Steve Tew recently raised the issue.

They said they face the challenge of retaining players offered large salaries by Northern Hemisphere clubs.

The overseas deals are becoming more and more lucrative, with All Blacks first-five Beauden Barrett, who starred in Saturday's win over the Wallabies, reportedly offered $3.4 million a year to join a French club after next year's World Cup.

Argentina ring changes ahead of All Blacks and Wallabies

Leicester Tigers' prop Gaston Cortes is one of four new faces brought in to help them maintain momentum after their win over South Africa at the weekend.

Cortes is joined by loose forward Juan Manuel Leguizamon, who last played for the national side in last year's 28-19 defeat by Ireland.

Julian Montoya, the hooker who missed the two-match series against South Africa through injury, is back, as is centre Matias Orlando.

Taxpayers asked to pay to keep All Blacks in NZ

Both NZR boss Steve Tew and All Blacks coach Steve Hansen spoke to Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, and Minister of Sport and Recreation Grant Robertson, at the weekend's Bledisloe Cup test in Auckland, and highlighted the increasing challenge of retaining players in the face of cash-rich clubs from the Northern Hemisphere.

The overseas deals are becoming more and more lucrative, with All Blacks first-five Beauden Barrett, who starred in Saturday's win over the Wallabies, reportedly offered $3.4 million a year to join a French club after next year's World Cup.

All Blacks set to ring changes

The All Blacks retained the Bledisloe Cup with a thumping 40-12 win over Australia on Saturday, star fly-half Beauden Barrett crossing for four tries.

That was followed by a 32-19 win for Argentina over the Springboks, suggesting they will be no pushovers against the world champions.

But head coach Steve Hansen insisted he will stick with his plan of resting star names like Barrett for their September 8 game in Nelson.

"You're always flexible in your thinking, but we've got a plan in place, and we've just got to trust everybody to do their jobs," Hansen said.

Barrett torments Wallabies

Barrett was instrumental when the All Blacks ran riot in the second half to beat the Wallabies in Sydney last weekend and the two-time World Rugby Player of the Year made history with another masterclass in Auckland on Saturday.

The outstanding fly-half claimed a first-half double and another two tries after the break, also scoring 10 points from the tee to finish with a tally of 30 as Australia were blown away.

Nick Farr-Jones questions Wallabies conditioning ahead of second Bledisloe Cup test

Farr-Jones, who played 63 matches for the Wallabies from 1984 to 1993, was a part of the last Wallabies side to win against the All Blacks at Eden Park.

Ahead of Saturday's second Bledisloe Cup test at the Auckland venue, the 56-year-old told Radio Sport's D'Arcy Waldegrave the way the Australians played in the second half of last weekend's 38-13 All Blacks win in Sydney was a real concern.

Ngani Laumape and Jordie Barrett to start for All Blacks at Eden Park

Laumape replaces Ryan Crotty at second five eighth and Jordie Barrett starts at fullback with Ben Smith going onto the right wing and Waisake Naholo moving across to the left wing for the injured Rieko Ioane.

The forward pack is the same that won the opening game in Sydney with Owen Franks set to play his 100th Test.

Ofa Tuungafasi comes back onto the reserves bench for Tim Perry.

All Blacks say still room for improvement

It's only one round in but the world champions already look capable of pulling off a third successive clean sweep of the Sanzaar competition following the 38-13 humbling of Australia in Sydney.

It will take something special to halt Steve Hansen's men, who are short-priced favourites to repeat the dose at their Eden Park stronghold on Saturday and tuck the Bledisloe Cup away for another year.

Springboks coach Rassie Erasmus admits the New Zealanders are on another level.

Crotty head injury sours All Blacks' triumph

The inside centre was knocked out in a clash of heads with new midfield partner Jack Goodhue in the first half of the 38-13 rout at Sydney's Olympic stadium and played no further part in the match.

The 29-year-old has suffered a litany of head knocks over the past two seasons, missing games for the Canterbury Crusaders in Super Rugby earlier this year, and will be sidelined for Saturday's return match at Eden Park.

His sister Shea Crotty, who has played basketball for New Zealand, aired her concerns on social media.
