Former All Black Savea unharmed after car accident

Julian Savea's wife, Fatima Savea, has taken to Instagram giving a detailed account of the accident and to reassure those concerned of his safety.

"Tonight Julian fell asleep behind the wheels of his car and flipped his car. Thankfully he is safe and sound in bed with me now after being dropped home by the ambulance because silly me had her phone on silent and missed all the calls and texts," Fatima wrote on Instagram on Sunday (local time).

Several casualties in serious crash at Hahake

Local reports said two vehicles collided in Hoi.

The details of the crash are still unclear.

Photos purported to show the incident seen by Kaniva News on social media showed men lying face upwards on the grass near the scene of the collision.

Some had been covered and lay on blankets while others were laid at the back of a Police pick up van.

Meanwhile, a 20-year-old Fua’amotu man died in hospital after a car crash in Tofoa on Wednesday morning.

Australian girl, 8, escaped a sinking car but family drowned

Chloe Kabealo said she had unbuckled her seatbelt and tried to "go up for air", then "just kept floating up out".

She said of her lost family members: "They were all loved and they'll never be forgotten."

Her father, who was not in the car, said he was "shattered" by the loss.

"I'm not holding up," Matt Kabealo said. "I'm just being strong for my daughter."

Chloe and her mother, sister and brother were in a car in the small town of Tumbulgum in New South Wales when it slid off a muddy road into a flooded river earlier this month.

Severe injuries at Foa causeway after car hit by waves fell into the sea

Police and emergency services in Pangai, Ha’apai were at the scene to pull out a car from the sea at Foa causeway while a man was rushed to hospital with serious injuries.

Kaniva News understands the car was hit by waves while it attempted to cross over to the other side of the causeway.
