Khloe said his medical condition was one reason to stop the process.

The reality TV star's former partner was found unconscious at a brothel in Nevada late last year after suffering a reported drug overdose.

Odom spent months in hospital as he recovered from kidney problems and a series of strokes.

The 36-year-old basketball star has been recovering in Cedars-Sinai hospital in Los Angeles since being found unconscious in a Nevada brothel following an alcohol and drugs binge and is set to move to rehab soon.

A source told PEOPLE: "The plan is for him to move in the next few days. At the facility, Lamar will continue to receive amazing therapy. He still has many challenges but is making progress. He is a fighter!"

The former NBA basketball star took a family selfie with 13-year-old son Lamar Odom Jr and 17-year-old daughter Destiny while celebrating the festive period.

The shot was posted to Instagram by Odom Jr, and captioned: "Christmas with pops. Here's to 2016. Blessed."

Doctors performed a series of brain scans on Lamar and discovered the strokes. Although the strokes didn’t affect vital organs, we’re told they did have an impact on his ability to walk and talk.

Lamar’s medical team isn’t saying if the impairment is permanent. He’ll undergo months of physical therapy and doctors don’t know the extent to which his motor skills and speech will be restored.
