The fact Mr. Wharepouri is first of Tongan ancestry to ascend the arduous journey of becoming a judge outside of Tonga is a celebrated milestone. Schooled in New Zealand, he graduated LLB (with Honours) from Auckland University in 1995, and LLM from Cambridge University, England in 2000.
