NBA games postponed

Covid-19 outbreak sees NBA postpone games

Games against the Detroit Pistons on Tuesday and the Toronto Raptors on Thursday are off, the NBA said.

The NBA postponed 31 games because of Covid-19 last season.

The NHL - North America's elite ice hockey league - has also called off the next three games of the Calgary Flames because of a Covid-19 outbreak.

Six players and one staff member have entered Covid-19 protocols and the NHL said there was a "likelihood of additional positive cases in the coming days."

NBA postpones two more games citing COVID-19 health and safety protocols

Tuesday's match-up between the New Orleans Pelicans and Dallas Mavericks and the game between the Boston Celtics and Chicago Bulls have been postponed.

The league also halted Saturday's game between the Celtics and Miami Heat.

The NBA said the postponements were made "in accordance with the league's Health and Safety Protocols" but did not elaborate, adding that it planned to meet with its players' association on later in the week to discuss modifying its health and safety protocols.
