Heamasi ‘Oto wins $1,000 cash in Home & Entertainment Easter Promotion

‘Oto was astonished when the CEO, Anthony Seuseu announced the win.

Seuseu led a Digicel Tonga team and delivered the cash prize to ‘Oto’s and his family at Malapo Village about 15 km east of Nuku’alofa. 

‘I’m lost for words to express how I really feel right now; I thank Digicel for showing my family and I kindness through this award,” he said as he tried to hold back his tears.

“Oto has been a Digicel PlayTV customer for about 2 years now.

He commits to paying for his monthly TV subscription in order for his family to enjoy the entertainment.

Sela, 18yr old, who has left school to help provide for her home and family was very grateful when she was awarded the prize.

The 28-year-old was shocked when he received the call to tell him he was the lucky winner for this week.

“I never thought of ever becoming a winner one day but today I’m holding $500 in my hand and I can only say now I believe it!” he said.

Koloamatangi said he will use this money to support his parents and family during this difficult time with the Tonga still being under lockdown and not knowing when things will return to normal.

The 62-year old Viliami was very emotional and tried to hold back his tears when he received the prize. He never thought he would become a winner on this promotion.

“I’m very thankful to God for this opportunity to receive this amount of money from Digicel, which means a lot to myself and my family!” he said with tears in his eyes.

Digicel joins Cyclone Relief on Éua Island

The team paid a visit to twenty key customers whose homes were damaged or destroyed during Tropical Cyclone Harold on 9th April.

The Cyclone also resulted in the destruction of Digicel Tonga's Éua Retail Store which was located at Ofeina Building on Ohonua near Éua's main wharf. 

In the visit to these twenty families, a sigh of relief and appreciation was extended to Digicel for the assistance and support during this time. 

Winners grateful for Digicel's Maálahi Easter Promotion

 The promotion incentivized customers to top up $5 or more or buy any data plans for the chance to win $2000 worth of prizes. 

The awarded winners were; Tevita Koloi Mafuataimi of Pili who won the 1st prize of Samsung Galaxy A70, free sim with 500 minutes, 500 texts and 500 mb data plus Galaxy Buds.  The 2nd and 3rd prize winners were Maú Tupou of Tofoa and Taniela Bloomfield of Maufanga who both won a JBL 3 Bluetooth Speaker each. 

The 4th and 5th prize winners were Finau Kolo Inoke of Maufanga and Lavesi Latu of Talau, Vavaú who won $50 credit each. 

Digicel Tonga ‘Eua staff rewarded for honesty

The 2 retail sales agents recovered the store safe under all the rubble over the Easter Weekend in what was left after the Digicel ‘Eua Store was completely destroyed in the storm surge when Tropical Cyclone

Harold hit the Island on 9th April. 

The ladies were restricted access to the destruction site due to safety, however followed through on the Saturday, 11th April to see what they could recover of Digicel Property. 

Unfortunately, the Storm Surge destroyed everything. 

Digicel Tonga supports front liners

Digicel team led by the Chief Executive, Anthony Seuseu presented the team with recharge cards and Umbrellas to assist in their visitations enabling the team to stay connected during this time. 

This support to our front liners is essential as they gone beyond the call of duty to assist the public in minimizing risks around Coronavirus. 

In addition to this, the team at Digicel are ensuring that their services are continued during this lock down period as connectivity for customers are a priority to allow them staying in touch with family and friends.
