Drink-driving

Latu hit with further sanctions by Rugby Australia over drink-driving incident

Latu was fined $1300 and suspended from driving for three months leading guilty to mid-range drink driving and driving with a suspended licence.

The court was reportedly told that Latu was found by passers-by asleep at the wheel at the intersection of Cleveland St and Anzac Pde in Sydney's inner-east at 4:30am.

Members of the public reportedly had to break into his vehicle to stop it from rolling into the intersection, with Latu unresponsive.

He recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.135 at the time, a mid-range reading.

Man City's Toure guilty of drink-driving

RNZ reports the Ivory Coast player, 33, told a court he thought he was drinking diet cola from a jug at a party, without realising it had brandy in it.

Toure did not challenge the charge as he was "above the permitted limit".

He was fined £54,000 - a means-tested fine - and banned from driving for 18 months by Barkingside magistrates.

"It is well known that I am a Muslim and do not drink, said Toure.

"I have always refused alcohol."

Toure was driving in Dagenham in east London at the time of the offence last month.
