Seven charged over armed heist on Paris filming set

Around twenty hooded thieves attacked the film crew by launching fireworks at them, a Netflix spokesperson said.

They stole more than €300,000 (£250,000; $330,000) worth of equipment during the heist, in broad daylight.

None of the cast or crew who were on set - reported to include the show's star Omar Sy - were injured.

The crew were attacked while they were filming in the Nanterre district, west of central Paris, forcing production to briefly pause.

Five men armed with axes smashed a window at the shop inside the hotel at about 18:00 local time (19:00 GMT), French media report.

Three men have been arrested, police said, while others remain on the run.

It is not clear whether any of the loot, estimated to be worth more than €4m (£3.5m), was recovered.

The luxurious five-star Ritz is located in Place Vendôme, in Paris' historical first district on the right bank of the river Seine. The ministry of justice lies next door.

Kaniva News reports three people have also been charged with housebreaking and theft after the equipment were allegedly stolen from Tanoa Hotel in Nuku’alofa.

The accused are a 42-year-old  man from Tofoa and his 25-year-old  girlfriend from Lomaiviti and they allegedly stole a laptop and 4 flash drives which belonged to the surgeons.

Tonga police arrest 3 men for robbing couple

Police said yesterday the accused who have been charged with robbery had assaulted the couple who were inside their vehicle and also stole their wallet.

Local media report the couple sustained minor injuries.

In addition, they were also charged for damaging four other vehicles and theft of items from vehicles that were parked in the same area, on that night.

The accused from Sopu are in custody as investigation continues. They are expected to appear at the lower court next week.

Tongan couple charged with robbing elderly woman in San Mateo, US

Radio Tonga reports information from San Bruno Patch says, both were booked into the county jail.

This comes after a 75 year old elderly woman reported that she was sleeping when a couple placed a pillow over her head and tied her wrists demanding money.

Police says, the victim told them that the female intruder’s voice belongs to her caretaker.

The couple took money from the residence but the amount was not disclosed.

Masked robbers stick-up petrol station

Police in Mu’a are still looking for the suspects who took the cash after threatening a female cashier (25) with the machete and a stick.

The incident took place at around noon when the two accused who covered their faces with masks and sunglasses entered the petrol station’s back door from the bush area.

The petrol station, which is operated by the Free Wesleyan Church in Fua’amotu, is situated beside the Scenic Hotel.

The Nuku'alofa police chief, Superintendent Tevita Fifita, says the alleged crimes included the robbery of a foreigner and theft from a butcher's shop.

Six of the 16 are still being held in police custody.
