Tongan Government signs Share Purchase Agreement and Shareholders Agreement for sale of Tonga Cable Ltd shares

The approval came after months of intense negotiations between the Government of Tonga (GoT), Digicel (Tonga) Limited (DTL), Tonga Cable Limited (TCL), and Tonga Communications Corporation (TCC),

Government of Tonga, DTL, TCL and TCC signed the respective agreements Friday. The signing ceremony was held at the Ministry of Public Enterprise and in attendance was the Prime Minister ‘Akilisi Pohiva, Deputy Prime Minister, Siaosi Sovaleni, Minister for Public Enterprises Poasi Tei and representatives from Digicel and TCC.

Digicel Tonga sponsors uniforms for Manamana outrigger team

The paddlers visited Digicel office Thursday to take some photos with the CEO Mr. Ben Kealy who was more than happy to do this.

This team will be attending the 2017 Hawaiian Airlines Sydney Harbour Classic which will take place in Sydney Australia. They will be joining an approximately 25km race which is to held on the 25th of this month.

This race has been going for 4 years and is the largest 6 person canoe race in the southern hemisphere.

Bingo Game winners collect prizes

The Bingo Game commenced on the 1st January 2017 and ended 31st January 2017.

The game had only required players to text in the word “Bingo” to 1644 at $0.39 seniti per text and with every text,  players can go up in rank until they reached Rank 1. Below are the results:

Digicel Tonga joins in Australia Day celebrations

They were treated to hot dogs to celebrate Australia Day which is commemorated annually on January 26.

Australia Day is the official national day of Australia and it marks the anniversary of the 1788 arrival of the First Fleet of British Ships at Port Jackson, New South Wales, and the raising of the Flag of Great Britain by Governor Arthur Phillip.

The Digicel office in Nuku’alofa was decked with miniature Australian flags and decorations in the traditional colours of green and gold.

Digicel staff were also dressed in green and gold.
