Fiji helps cyclone-ravaged Tonga

A Fiji Airways 737 aircraft left Nadi this morning with much-needed technical and emergency supplies. The supplies have been cleared in Nuku’alofa and will be ready for distribution by Digicel and relief agency personnel later today.

Digicel CEO Pacific, Colin Stone said, “The terrible effects of Tropical Cyclone Gita in Tonga are now clear and many people are in urgent need of assistance like water, shelter and food”.

The signing took place yesterday in the presence of Dominion Insurance Tonga, General Manager, Ilaivaha Tovehi.

Mr Kealy highlighted that this is to ensure that all Digicel staff are fully equipped with medical needs for their individual safety and well-being.

Mango Tree Centre holds Sports Day for children with disabilities

The children have been engaged in sports like bowling, soft ball and table tennis amongst others.

The event will end tomorrow.

Digicel has maintained its strong working relationship with the Mango Tree Centre for many years now and they will continue to develop the program in the future.

Digicel was also proud to support the centre by arrangements refreshments for children.

Amanaki In-Kwon Kim who runs the Mango Tree Centre expressed his gratitude to Digicel Tonga for supporting them.

Digicel supports first ever local Kingdom 7s tournament

The tournament is scheduled to be held on 6th and 7th October, 2017 in Tongatapu and is aimed to bring together Sevens Rugby players both male and females from around the country to play in this two-day event.

Digicel announces Diaspora Winter Promotion winners

Digicel completes Share Purchase Agreement for Tonga Cable Ltd

As a result, Government will be able to co-finance alongside the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank, the extension of the fibre optic cable to Vava’u and Ha’apai Islands for an improved telecommunication service in both Island groups.

Tongan Government and Digicel collaborate to support ‘Ikale Tahi

The match was broadcast live by Tonga Broadcasting Commission (TBC) co-funded by Tongan Government.

Apart from TBC broadcasting the match live, nine villages in Tongatapu were able to watch the game in church halls and town halls through a partnership between the Ministry of MEIDECC and Digicel.
