Digicel Tonga celebrates 10th anniversary

The event at Seaview Lodge and Restaurant was also attended by Prime Minister, Akilisi Pohiva, Australian High Commissioner, Andrew Ford, Hon. Fane Tupouvava’u Tu’ivakano and the Governor, Sione Ngongo Kioa.

The celebration is in recognition of the milestone of Digicel on its 10th anniversary of service in the Kingdom of Tonga.

Mr Tu’ivakano and Dennis Fuapau, Head of Business Solutions at Digicel cut the anniversary cake.

Mr Fuapau is one of Digicel Tonga’s longest serving employees.

Ten out of ten for Digicel Tonga

The campaign is focused on giving ‘much better value’ for money to all our customers.  

The campaign is about ‘Give $99 and Take 10 hours Unlimited Data with a 4G smartphone’.  In addition, customers can ‘Give $10 and Take10 hours Unlimited Data.  These new offers are aligned with the $2 for 2 hours Unlimited Data and the $5 for 5 hours Unlimited Data from 12 midnight to 5am.    

Misa and Tuakalau win in Digicel ‘Go For Gold’ SMS game

Sailosi Tuakalau also of Havelu picked up second prize of $800 during the draw at Digicel office on Monday.   

In April, Digicel launched the ‘Go for Gold’ SMS game where customers were required to text a specific short code to gain more points in order to win instant prizes as well as the grand prize.

The game is exciting as random instant winners are awarded real credit and prizes.

     

Digicel supports Tonga Special Olympics team at Special Olympics Anniversary

Digicel Tonga CEO, Ben Kealy presented a cheque yesterday to the Chairman for the Special Olympic Tonga Association (SOTA), Sione Taumoefolau and eight athletes, who will be representing the country at the event.

Taumoefolau thanked Digicel for another year of humble sponsorship for the athletes and the opportunity to take Tonga to the world.

He said Digicel has been a loyal sponsor for Tonga Special Olympic since 2013.

Tonga will be represented by a 5-member football team, two athletes who will compete in the 100m race and one athlete in the shot put event.

Supaeli Vailea wins Digicel Tonga’s Easter Promotion

Vailea, who will travel with her mother, has also won the chance to cheer on Tonga’s Special Olympic Team at the Olympic Anniversary celebrations that will be held from 30 April 2018 to 3 May 2018, in Suva.

Vailea and her mother, Mele Lavoni Tuavao will be accommodated at Tanoa Plaza as part of the prize.

Vailea said this is the best Mother’s Day gift one could ask for and she will enjoy it with her mother.

She won the prize after she bought a Tecno Smartphone during the Easter Promotion.

 

 

Digicel Tonga announces Easter Egg Hunt SMS Game winners

The second prize of $800 went to Sailosi Tuakalau also of Havelu.

Misa and Tuakalau won as a result of texting the word ‘egg’ to 1644 and receiving the highest bonus points respectively.

The more you text the more you will get bonus points to win a shared cash of $3200TOP plus free credit for weekly winners.

The winners were both players since day 1 of the competition.

As an overall result of the game, Digicel will now launch SMS game for April with the similar concept of sharing the prize money of $3200.

Digicel Tonga ICT Specialist attends regional Cybercrime meet in Moldova

The meeting was attended by 46 participants from 11 countries across the globe.  Tonga was the only country in the Pacific part of this Cybercrime Cooperation Exercise. 

In today’s evolving world of change, there has been an increasing number of attacks against computer systems and data has become a growing concern for both cyber security professionals and the law enforcement.  Cybercrime today is driven mostly by financial gain hence the rapid detection and action on illegal money laundering now happening across the Internet world. 

Digicel Tonga supports Special Olympics Tonga Association football programme

The program called 'Football for Hope' is hosted once every month with children from the 'Ofa Tui Amanaki Centre & the children from the Inclusive Education from Ngele'ia.

Football for Hope is an initiative designed to focus on empowering and socially integrating people with intellectual disability through skills acquisition and fun competition.

Special Olympics intends to use football (soccer) as an inclusive tool to bring people together to tackle problems faced by people with intellectual disability in a fun and interactive environment. 

Digicel ON, Worries OFF puts Tongan Customers in Control

Going forward, the customer experience will be dramatically improved as Digicel Tonga has implemented a new system where our customers will get a text message (SMS) before they finish their existing bundle.  Customers can then buy more data on My Digicel App or by dialling a short code e.g. *141#, and selecting a plan to suit their needs.  Customers will continue to have the option to “Pay as You Go.

Digicel Tonga donates furniture to cyclone-hit schools

Tonga College, Takuilau College, Tailulu College & St Francis of Assisi received desks, cabinets, chairs and whiteboards from the Digicel head office on Monday.

The donations are part of Digicel’s recovery from Cyclone Gita that hit the island last month.

The school principals thanked Digicel for their kind donation.

Digicel also previously donated water and stationery supplies to five primary schools.
